This myco-series documentary explores lesser-known aspects of mushrooms.

As you may know, mycelium and mushrooms are crucial to our ecosystem. Yet, many people are still unaware of their potential as valuable allies due to their medicinal properties, their ability to decontaminate the environment, and their potential to create sustainable and biodegradable materials.

This myco-series will introduce you to experts and scientists from Quebec who will share their research, discoveries, and knowledge. You’ll uncover innovations and solutions to various current issues, all aimed at promoting a sustainable future.

While I can handle much of this project on my own, given my expertise, financial resources are limited. Donations and sponsorships will allow us to invest more time in production, hire professionals, rent equipment, purchase archive rights, promote the documentary, and enhance the overall quality of the project.

Here’s how your donations will be used:

The $30,000 will help fund part of the three episodes, each with a duration of 45 to 60 minutes, in accordance with the recommendations of the streaming platform on which the myco-documentary series will be released in 2025. The minimum total budget we need to raise is $130,000. This amount may seem high, especially if one is not familiar with the reality of video production, but in reality, it is relatively modest considering the work and expenses that a project of this type involves. Moreover, we are personally committed to dedicating all the necessary time and energy to compete with top-tier documentaries, which, in contrast, have colossal budgets.

Episode 01: Medicine & Psilocybin - $10,000 - Filming (including gas, mileage, accommodation), equipment rental, post-production/editing hours, and payment for professional services.

Episode 02: Fungal Pollutants - $10,000 - Filming (including gas, mileage, accommodation), equipment rental, post-production/editing hours, and payment for professional services.

Episode 03: Mycelium Materials - $10,000 - Filming (including gas, mileage, accommodation), equipment rental, post-production/editing hours, and payment for professional services.

The total amount raised here will be combined with grants, sponsorships, and other financial support. This minimum budget of CAD $130,000 for the three episodes will primarily be used to pay for video archive licenses, the services of an illustrator, the animation of these illustrations (motion designer), and the services of a sound engineer.
